| Welcome
Fall!
We survived our first summer and boy was it busy! In fact, we’re
enjoying the busiest year in the Carriage House Inn’s history and
want to thank all our guests for choosing to stay with us. As we ease
into the slower months, several projects are in the works:
Room One Gets a Facelift!
In the next month, room one will get a fresh coat of paint and brand new
furnishings and linens. It will have a very “Cape Cod” feel
with white wood furniture, the highlight of which will be a canopy bed!
Want
to be an Innsitter?
We are looking forward to a much needed vacation in January. During that
time, we have hired a professional innsitter to run the inn. On the weekend
of January 22nd and 23rd, she will be conducting a seminar for prospective
interim innsitters. Visit
our specials page to learn more about this package. We have also posted
our Valentine’s
Day, New Year’s and Winter packages to our specials page.
Eleventh Annual Holiday Inn Tour
Don’t miss this year’s famous Chatham inn tour on Saturday,
December 11. Tour six of Chatham’s inns all decked out in their
holiday best. We still have a couple rooms available for the weekend,
so hurry to book
your reservation (800-355-8868).

| Our
flagpole finally got painted! We found a daredevil to shimmy
up the pole with a can of paint attached to his belt. We couldn’t
look, but he got the job done and it looks fabulous! |
We
held our first annual haunting tour at the end of October. Mark
Jasper, author of Haunted Inns of Cape Cod told chilling tales
at four Chatham Inns. Guests enjoyed the spooky tour and also received
a copy of Mark’s book as well as a delicious pumpkin pie pancake
breakfast.

James
Cooks While
Jill Spills the Beans…
This is the title of the cookbook we are in the process of putting together.
The book will feature James’ breakfast recipes as well as several
of our favorite dinner dishes. And, after just a year in business, we
have gathered so many funny stories, we decided to include some of them
in the book. To be the first to hear when the book can be purchased, send
an e-mail to info@thecarriagehouseinn.com.

Domestic Tips Corner
To clean
your microwave, fill a bowl with water and add sliced lemons. Microwave
for at least 20 minutes or until the water is evaporated and your microwave
is filled with steam. Wipe clean and enjoy a fresh, lemony scent!
To clean
windows, combine water and vinegar. Apply with a wet rag and dry with
newspaper. It sounds crazy, but it works beautifully.
The best
way to make bacon? Bake at 400° for 10 minutes – yum!
Tired of
glasses looking dull and old after coming out of the dishwasher? Try Glass
Magic – it works wonders. |
